Super Friday -- Test re-do's.

Good Afternoon,

I hope you had an amazing Super Tuesday! I just wanted to remind you of a few things...

1. Test scores are in. Remember, if you received a 2.5 or lower you can take home the re-do form. This NEEDS to be SIGNED by a PARENT and returned at the BEGINNING of class on Monday or it will not be accepted. Also make sure you are fully answering all questions and why it is the correct answer. If you put "I don't know" you will not get the partial credit for that question. The re-do forms if you need another copy is included below:

2. I am SOOOOO excited to have told you all today about the dissection we are about to take part in! FROGS!!!!!!! Within the next couple of weeks I will be sending home permission forms for the dissection. This is a super exciting lab, but we also need to remember that safety is an important issue. We will be signing a form saying that we will respect all of the equipment and that there will be no joking around during the lab (since we will be using scalpels, scissors, etc...). If there is such an incident, students will be taken to a separate room to work on alternative assignments and miss out on this awesome opportunity. I'm so excited for this lab to come up!

Have a WONDERFUL weekend and I will see you on Monday. The only homework is to do the re-do's if you are choosing to do so.

Remember only homework is to finish up your board game if it is not already completed.

See you all Friday.

Snow Day Round 2 - Test Rescheduled.

Good Afternoon All!

I hope you enjoyed your snowday on Wednesday!! I just wanted to give you a heads up that the test that was supposed to be Wednesday will be rescheduled to next Wednesday March 9, since we do not have school Monday. Although it might seem as a positive that you did not have to take the test yesterday, let's remember to study and keep up on the digestive system topic and not let it escape our minds. Make sure you are working on your study guide and studying your three digestive guided note packets.

Due to the snow day, we will be taking the test first thing Wednesday and then finishing up and playing our "Digestive Board Games"after. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Email me if you have ANY questions about the test. Good luck studying over the weekend and next week!

MISSING WORK FOR FUN FRIDAY: It is all due on Tuesday. Since you will not see me until Wednesday, please email me if you have any missing assignments that you want to turn in.

Wed February 17, 2016 - Class work and New Behavior Plan.

Hello!

This past Wednesday during science we did a few things....

First, we took a quiz on food and energy, which students will get back on Monday.

Second, we went over my new behavior management plan which I told the kids I would post here. A few things are changing which I'm sure you all want to know about.
                1. I am no longer doing notebook checks (I think students have reached the point in the
school year that they should understand their organizational skills. I still will be
completing my notebook if students want to keep up on that type of notebook).
                2. I want to see more participation, so I will be doing more "Cold Calling."
                3. I am no longer accepting late assignments after 4+ class days.

^^All of the above new "Behavior Plan" is listed and explained in the four pictures below. Parents or Students, PLEASE feel free to email me if you have any questions about the new Plan.

Lastly, since we have been talking about the Digestive System, we started looking over food pyramids and why they are helpful in picking our healthy diet.

On Monday we will be finishing up the digestive system process, and moving on to the other body systems throughout the next couple of weeks.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend, and remember this weekend was homework free!

We are starting off with returning our quizzes from last Monday, and working on a quick homeostasis review guide. Then we will be taking some guided notes on the Digestive system, and doing a food labels lab.

The homeostasis review sheet:

The Digestion guided notes look like this:
